The wavelengths of the excitation and emission of Romindan 6G are between those of fluorescein and tetramethyl Romindane derivatives, allowing 5(6)-CR6G to provide alternative color options for multicolor fluorescence imaging analysis. 5(6)-CR6G is a mixture formed from two different carboxyl groups of romindan 6G monomers.
