6-HEX is a fluorophore with an excitation wavelength of 532 nm and an emission wavelength of 556 nm. 6-HEX can be used to label nucleic acid sequences and design fluorescent primers. 6-HEX labeled nucleic acids can be identified using 543 nm rays of an argon laser, enabling the localization of genes in complex tissues or heterogeneous cell populations at emission spectra of 550 and 650 nm (5 nm bandwidth).
