It can selectively react with the thiol-based groups of peptides, proteins, and other biomolecules (e.g., thiol-modified oligonucleotides and small organic molecules containing thiols). 6-ROX, C2 maleimide has the same spectral properties as 6-ROX conjugates, therefore, it is suitable for any instrument that can detect 6-ROX, and 6-ROX, C2 maleimide is more stable compared to the commonly used 6-ROX acid and 6-ROX, SE.
