It is often used to display cartilage together with fast green. It is based on the combination of cationic dye and anionic group in mucopolysaccharide. The combination of eosinophilic bone and acid dye fast green is green or blue, which is in sharp contrast with the red cartilage, so as to distinguish cartilage tissue and bone group.
