The role of methanol: first, it dissolves methylene blue and eosin, so that it dissociates into the positive ion of colored methylene blue and the negative ion of eosin. The latter two can selectively adsorb different components of blood cells and make them colored; The second is to fix the cell morphology, accelerate the staining reaction, and enhance the staining effect.
